Boston Town

In honor of our 10th wedding anniversary and also just because we haven’t traveled in a long time, we went to Boston for a few days – Boston Town, according to Sophie (because of nursery rhymes, you see).

Boston Town was so fun.

This is basically how Sophie looked the whole time at the aquarium. Excited! Pointing!

I know you've all seen photos of the giant turtle before, but this turtle is seriously the number one thing Sophie talked about in anticipating this trip, so seeing it was a big hairy deal for her. :) Plus, that turtle really is awesome.

This was especially super fun. Sophie enjoyed getting peripherally wet, and observing the bigger kids getting right in the middle.

There were some fun spaces for Sophie to run around outside, such as this waterfront park by the Children's Museum.

The Construction Zone room had trucks with ramps and tubes to climb through. It was Sophie's favorite.

"I drive this when I'm bigger"

Lizzy's in Cambridge was very allergy-friendly and had ice cream Sophie could eat. She also had her first cone-dropping experience...and they gave her a new one. So nice!

Trying to do her camera smile with vegan chocolate muffin in her mouth. This was taken at Flour. I am in love with Flour. They were allergy-friendly, made great coffee, and served seltzer made with blended watermelon that was amaaazing.

This photo is really only here because when Sophie saw it she said "chasing an eagle!" Ah yes, the majestic city eagle, photographed in the Boston public gardens.

All that fun makes a person tired.

I wish I had a photo of Sophie riding the T, because she loved it so much – but I don’t, so you’ll have to imagine her on a packed subway car, ok? :)

There are many more photos on Flickr, because that’s how I roll – and I made a Boston-specific set right here so you don’t even have to wade through our photostream. Whoo hoo!

I’m so bummed you didn’t tell us you were coming! We would have loved to see you on our turf!

Janice, it was just such a whirlwind trip! Next time, we promise to let you know (and maybe we’ll be more fun to eat out with, too, since I am totally hopeful that there will be fewer food allergies in the mix soon – allergy re-testing this month. :))
