Sophie’s favorite things, at 19 months old:

Sophie reads "Ferdinand" to herself.

Books:
“The Story of Ferdinand” by Munro Leaf
“Wolves in the Walls” by Neil Gaiman
“Harold and the Purple Crayon” by Crockett Johnson
“The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss
all of the books about babies by Helen Oxenbury
Her various Mother Goose books

Recently, Sophie discovered "feeding" her toys.

Favorite foods:
miso soup (her pronunciation when she requests it sounds a lot like “messy soup”) with tofu
oranges
olives
mushrooms, especially sauteed
mozzerella cheese
frozen blueberries
tortilla chips/crackers
kale, sauteed with olive oil and garlic

Yeah, her diet is a little weird right now.

Favorite songs:
“Jukebox” by Fred Buscaglione

I don’t actually think there is any other song that quite competes with Jukebox, actually. She still enjoys listening to all kinds of music, but “Jukebox” is far and away her #1 favorite.

Winter fun times

Ryan and Meg took Eleanor and Sophie sledding a week or two ago. I stayed home and enjoyed the warmth and quiet, because that is basically how I feel about playing in the snow. But Sophie loved it, and hasn’t stopped talking about it since.
